Snow Plow Truck Driver – Hazardous Weather Response

Location: Western Washington

Schedule: On-call, part-time, and seasonal (primarily during winter weather events)

Hourly Compensation:  $60.00/Hour

  

Job Description:

Western Washington Site Services is hiring dependable and safety-conscious Snow Plow Truck Drivers for the winter season. In this seasonal, part-time role, you’ll be responsible for clearing snow and applying deicing material using a plow truck equipped with a tailgate deicing unit.


This position requires availability during snow and ice events, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. You’ll play a critical role in keeping commercial properties safe and accessible in hazardous winter conditions.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a snow plow truck to clear snow from commercial lots, driveways, and access roads
  • Safely operate tailgate-mounted deicing units to apply salt or liquid deicer
  • Load, calibrate, and monitor deicing materials for proper and efficient application
  • Follow route maps, site plans, and instructions with precision
  • Maintain regular communication with dispatch and site supervisors
  • Perform basic pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
  • Monitor weather and surface conditions to adjust service as needed
  • Ensure all operations are performed safely and in compliance with local laws

  

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required for all vehicles)
  • Experience operating snow plow trucks and/or tailgate deicing units
  • Ability to work in cold, snowy, and icy conditions for extended periods
  • Must be on-call and available for variable hours, including nights and weekends
  • Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety
  • Reliable transportation to and from work locations
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if applicable)

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience using tailgate spreaders, salters, or liquid deicing systems
  • CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record
  • Mechanical skills for basic troubleshooting and equipment handling
